Description

The TLP181 is a Thin-Profile Coupler that can be mounted on a surface. A photo transistor and an infrared emitting diode are what make up TLP181. TLP181 is appropriate for high density surface mounting applications like programmable controllers since it is smaller than DIP package.
An Opto Isolator is a semiconductor device that uses light to transmit an electrical signal between isolated circuits. It is sometimes referred to as an optical coupler, photocoupler, or optocoupler.
